Fatima Haynes
PhD Student in Exposure Science
Fatima graduated with a B.S. in Biology from Norfolk State University, and a M.S. in Biochemistry from Tennessee State University. She is currently pursuing a Doctorate at Rutgers University in Exposure Science where she works both at the "bench" and in partnership with communities. Her community centered projects have revolved around using low-cost sensors to measure air quality in NJ communities. She aims to leverage her academic background to not only be a science educator but to be a continuous voice for diversity and inclusion by contributing to the research of underrepresented minorities and vulnerable communities in hopes of alleviating the disproportionate burdens of environmental exposures they experience.
